LAS VEGAS — Jonathan Davenport added another $25,000 to his bank account with a victory on the opening night of the Duel in the Desert at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas.
Davenport started on the pole and led all 40 laps of the unsanctioned super late model event, holding off Brandon Overton by 2.089 seconds for his third victory in his last three races.
Tim McCreadie finished third, with Bobby Pierce and Josh Richards rounding out the top five.
Saturday night’s main event will pay $50,000 to win.
