CONCORD, N.C. — The Colossal 100 will return to The Dirt Track at Charlotte next season.
The original Colossal was run at the four-tenths-mile track from 2006 through 2009 with Scott Bloomquist, Steve Francis and Earl Pearson Jr. among the winners.
Thanks to an agreement between officials from Charlotte Motor Speedway and XR Events, the event will return in a new form between May 8-14.
Super late models are scheduled to headline the event that will also include local grassroots support classes.
XR Events has promoted similar events at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway and The Dirt Track at Texas Motor Speedway.
