GAFFNEY, S.C. — Chris Madden battled through adversity to score his eighth Blue Gray 100 victory at Cherokee Speedway on Sunday night.
After pitting with 19 laps remaining, Madden fought back to the front, before taking the lead away on the white flag.
A late-race caution with six laps remaining would give the Madden the opportunity to capitalize.
On the ensuing restart, Madden would work his way around second-place running Ben Watkins, before ultimately taking the win from Daulton Wilson.
Madden started on the pole after clocking in the fastest time, and winning his heat race earlier in the evening.
The victory gave Madden a $12,000 payday for taking the checkered flag in the 100-lap event.
