Stricker Staves Off Falloway For 3rd Annual Area 51 Victory

SEYMOUR, Tenn. – The Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Southern Series would be at 411 Motor Speedway on Saturday evening for the biggest event in the tour’s history with the 3rd Annual Area 51 event, paying $5,100 to win.

Adam Stricker would take the lead on lap thirty-one and hold off the advances of Cole Falloway to score the victory in the race that drew an event and series record fifty-three entries.

The win for the 23-year-old Stricker would be his third career Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Series victory and come aboard an Elite Chassis powered by a Darrell Hoffman Race Engine.

Victor Lee would take the lead at the drop of the green flag on the fifty-one-lap main event, with Josh Harris, Adam Stricker, Taylor Cook, and Lucas Lee giving chase.

Cole Falloway and Ricky Arms would quickly make their way into the top five and would battle for fourth on lap four, with Harris challenging Lee for the race lead. The first caution of the event waved on lap six when Lucas Lee would slow on the frontstretch and his night would be done.

The attempted restart would not see a lap completed as Ryan Rackley would loop his machine on the backstretch. The next restart would see Victor Lee, Harris, and Stricker maintain the top three spots, with Falloway winning a three-wide battle for fourth, and Cook in fifth.

Harris would drive past Lee for the lead on lap eight, only to have Lee reclaim the top spot in turn four on lap nine.  The front five would remain the same until the caution waved on lap thirteen when Adam Ogle and Rackley would tangle in turn four.

The restart would see Stricker get around Harris for second, with Lee still out front, while Falloway and Cook would battle for fourth.  However, only one more lap would be completed as Jeremy Sears would spin in turn two to draw what would be the final caution of the event.

The restart would see the top five remain the same and stay in this order as Lee would catch slower traffic on lap twenty-eight. The top four would be packed together in heavy traffic, and Stricker would make his move for the race lead in turn three and take the race lead on lap thirty-one, with Falloway taking third from Harris on the same circuit.

Falloway would close in on Lee and take second on lap thirty-six and would begin the process of beginning to reel in Stricker.  However, Stricker would hold off the charges of Falloway and see the checkered flag first, with ninth place starting Falloway finishing second and Lee coming home third.

Harris would finish fourth and Cook completed the top five.
