LAFARGEVILLE, N.Y. — With persistent rain in the area and more expected through Friday according to Precision Weather Service, DIRTcar Northeast and Can-Am Speedway officials have agreed to cancel Friday’s portion of Thunder in the Thousand Islands weekend headlined by the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series.
The decision comes after the series and track worked with Meteorologist Wayne Mahar from Precision Weather Service and monitoring the local weather.
Saturday’s portion of the event, highlighted by the return of the Super DIRTcar Series for the first time since 2022 is still on as scheduled. Friday’s cancellation gives track crews the chance to provide the best possible racing surface for Saturday.
The DIRTcar 358 Modified Series will return to action on April 27 at Fulton Speedway during Highbank Holdup weekend.
